A patio is only as flat as the ground under it
Most patios that heave, crack or hold puddles were fine on the day they went in. What failed was underneath: a base that was never compacted, or water running across the spot with nowhere else to go. We dig, grade and compact the base ourselves, so we’re answerable for that part too.
We build patios across Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Seymour and Kodak. We’re insured and estimates are free.
What we build
- Paver patios and walkways: pavers laid by our own crew on a base we dig and compact ourselves
- Flagstone patios and walkways: 2-inch flagstone set on a prepared base, with mortared joints where you want a solid surface
- Concrete patios: broom finish, stamped or colored, poured over steel on a compacted stone base (more on our concrete page)
- Steps and landings where a patio meets a slope or a door
- Walkway and patio repairs: loose or broken flagstone re-set, and the cause fixed too

Pavers
Pavers give you a finished, even surface in almost any color and pattern, and a single paver can be lifted and reset if something underneath ever needs work. Our own crew lays them. The part that decides how they age is the base, which is why we dig and compact it ourselves instead of setting pavers on whatever ground is there.

Flagstone
Flagstone suits a cabin or a hillside better than anything poured. It’s natural stone, every piece is different, and it can follow a curve or step down a grade. We set it on a prepared base and mortar the joints so the patio stays tight and weeds stay out.

Stamped and colored concrete
If you want the look of stone without the joints, stamped and tinted concrete gets close. It goes down as one continuous slab, so there’s nothing to settle unevenly. The walkway in this photo is one of ours.

Drainage comes first
If water already runs across the spot where you want the patio, that gets solved before we build. Sometimes that’s a regrade, sometimes a French drain, and on a slope it’s often a retaining wall to make a flat place in the first place.
Patios that grow into more
A patio is often the first piece of a bigger plan: a fire pit, seating walls, lighting, or a full outdoor living area. Tell us where you want to end up, even if you’re only building part of it now, and we’ll set the grade and the base so the later pieces fit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pavers, flagstone or concrete?
Pavers give an even, finished surface in many colors and patterns, and a paver can be lifted and reset later. Flagstone suits cabins, curves and slopes, and every piece is different. Stamped and colored concrete gives a stone look as one continuous slab. We build all three and will tell you which fits the spot.
Do you do the base, or just the stone?
The base too. We excavate, grade and compact it ourselves, because that is what decides whether the patio stays flat.
My yard is sloped. Can I still have a patio?
Usually, yes. On a slope the flat area often comes from a retaining wall, with drainage behind it, and the patio goes on top.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free, and on design and build projects the simple drawing and project plan are free too.
