Cabin lots, runoff and walls that have to hold
Off the Parkway, most of Pigeon Forge is hillside: cabins, rentals and homes cut into slopes that send every rainstorm downhill. That shapes almost every job we do here. Before anything gets planted or paved, the water has to have somewhere to go and the ground has to be held in place.
We’re based in Sevierville, a short drive up the road, and Pigeon Forge is the second-busiest town in our estimate book. This year we’ve put in French drains there and drawn up stone wall repairs and Everloc block walls for steep back yards.
What Pigeon Forge jobs usually need
- French drains in perforated 4-inch pipe, finished with a pop-up emitter so the water comes out well away from the foundation
- Retaining walls in Everloc block, with caps, drain pipe at the base and #57 gravel behind the wall
- Repairs to stone walls that have started to let go, re-set with stone veneer mortar before they get worse
- Walkways and fire pit areas on cabin lots, laid on a base we dig and compact ourselves
- Small fixes too: locating property markers, clearing out unwanted boulders, repairing a broken water line

How we approach a Pigeon Forge job

Find the water first
The wet spot is rarely where the problem starts. On a hillside lot it’s usually a roofline, a driveway above you or a neighbor’s grade. We trace the water before we price any pipe, so the drain goes where the water actually starts.

Walls built for the slope
Every wall gets drainage pipe at the base, clean #57 gravel behind it and geofabric between the gravel and the dirt. On taller walls we run geogrid back into the hill to the block maker’s spec or the engineered plan. Walls that hold up a driveway or a building start with an engineer, and we work with engineers we trust.

A yard guests will use
A lot of Pigeon Forge cabins rent, so the yard does real work: a flat place to sit, a fire pit, a walkway that doesn’t turn to mud. We build those on top of the drainage and grading, never in place of it.

Owners who live somewhere else
Plenty of the property here is owned from out of state. You get the plan and the quote by email, you can sign online, and you approve any change before we make it.
Permits and engineering
Whether a wall needs a permit depends on its height and on whether the lot is inside Pigeon Forge city limits or out in the county. In Sevier County it’s any wall over 4 feet. We check which rules apply before we price the job.
We also work in Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Kodak and Seymour. Call (865) 280-4642 or use the form below for a free estimate.
